77-30569/237276 Computerized simulation of the finishing process of a parabolic reflector
Engineering Education # 10, October 2011 The article describes working surface finish of a radio antenna parabolic reflector made of a composite material. This operation is carried out on a specialized machine tool by using the method of fixed axes. A special computer program was developed: it allows to calculate the expected real shape of the processed surface depending on a variation of factors of the finishing process. The article suggests a classification of estimated deviations of the processed surface from sphericity. The required accuracy of the surface shape of a paraboloid of revolution is reached by neutralization of initial deviations which arise at forming of a reflector during the finishing process.
