Engineering Education # 09, September 2011 The object of this study is a geothermal steam turbine plant with binary cycle. Purpose of work – design of steam turbine geothermal binary cycle power plant for future development of geothermal fields which able to make better use of geothermal resources in comparison with the existing steam turbine plant on geothermal energy sources. The state of the existing geothermal power plants is presented an estimate of the thermal characteristics of promising geothermal fields of the Kamchatka region, is given. As a result of this investigation the concrete geothermal field is chosen, and the design of steam turbine plant with capacity of 25 MW is fulfilled.
