77-30569/307963 New algorithm of node splitting for R-tree, based on double sorting

Spatial data storage and spatial queries processing are crucial tasks for modern databases. Efficiency of the spatial queries processing depends on index structure described below. R-tree is one of the most famous index structures, designed for spatial data storage. There are different versions of R-tree and their main distinctive feature is an algorithm of node splitting. Some algorithms of node splitting for two- and more dimensional R-trees contain one-dimensional node splitting as a composant. The problem of node splitting in one-dimensional R-tree may mistakenly seems trivial to consider it separately, because one-dimensional intervals can be divided, basing on their sorting. But existing algorithms fail to operate properly when dealing with different difficult cases. New algorithm of node splitting based on two sorts for one-dimensional case was proposed in this article. This algorithm tends to work better with those difficult problems. Algorithm of node splitting for two- and more dimensional R-trees based on that one-dimensional algorithm was also proposed in this article. Benchmark problems displayed that proposed algorithms worked better than existing ones in case of highly intersected data.

A sigma-delta modulator with negative feedback was considered in this article. The structure and working principles of devices built on the basis of sigma-delta modulation were presented. Application areas of the sigma-delta modulators were explored. Mathematical models of the sigma-delta modulator’s operation in the time domain were described. Analysis of operation of the sigma-delta modulator of the first and the second orders was also presented in the article. It was determined that a noise band appeared in the sigma-delta modulator because modulator was a chaotic attractor. Sigma-delta modulator’s ability to form the frequency fractionality in output spectrum was also indicated. Mathematical models without additive noise were considered; the conclusion on the influence of the modulator’s order on the noise level. The graphics, which displayed basic characteristics of sigma-delta modulator’s operation with different inputs were included.

Dynamic characteristic of phase locked loop in the presence of harmonic interference at its entrance along with desired signal were considered; this interference was out of PLL synchronization band. Critical values of parameters of system and interference were obtained with harmonic balance method.

 This article is devoted to the recognition of Old Russian shorthand’s letters and words of XVII-th century. These recognition mechanisms are the part of two-level structural recognition technique. The method of structural description of shapes of letters and words was introduced along with the corresponding frame-based knowledge representation method. The algorithms of the recognition of shorthand’s letters and words, based on the proposed method of knowledge representation, were defined and researched in this article.

The mechanism of abstract pattern recognition, that was the foundation of the general recognition method of the XVII-th century Old Russian shorthand text was considered. The structure of the recognition system’s knowledge base was described. The abstract pattern recognition algorithm based on the introduced knowledge base was defined and researched. The given algorithm forms a basis for recognition of specific types of images – shorthand’s letters and words.

Concepts of complex that belongs to class of expert systems and designed for conduction of numeric experiments (simulation) in order to analyze productivity (timing data) indexes of distributed systems of data processing (DSDP) were considered. New class of analysis model of DSDP’s timing performances was developed in this work with optimization mechanisms of queries to distributed database taken in the account. Application of the decision-making process, based on holistic selection of architecture type was also developed. If frame of expert system is connected with SQL operator, then frames unite into network that corresponds to the sequence of SQL operators’ execution. Different resources of computer network are used when SQL operators are executed that is frame network goes into resources of computer network.

The article describes an attempt of creating a formalized structural model of Windows 2000 OS. The authors present structural descriptions which lay no claim to a functional analysis. All the information in the article is obtained from the open sources (Microsoft Press [1]), or was obtained independently as a result of reverse-study of the system components. The authors propose a definition of the OS structure which, in turn, includes descriptions of the structures of its base components - such as the environment subsystem block, system support library, actuator system, operating system kernel, device drivers, system processes. The system basic structural components are given with the indication of their interrelation.

Article is devoted to analysis of process representation form as a description of changing the state of any system in time. The description of process was included; every component such as parametric set of a system, state space, temporary set, diagram and phase space were described. Concepts of subspace, subprocess, projection of a point in space onto a subspace were introduced. Operations of convolution, deconvolution, projection and union were defined over these processes. These operations were analyzed; their properties and realization conditions were defined.

This article deals with the development of databases of ADSDP subsystem of software solution for analysis of productivity indexes in distributed systems of data processing, designed to analyze computer networks. Different problems were solved while developing schemes of databases for ADSDP; they included description of nodes, channels, DSDP topology, virtual communication channels and their characteristics; determination of node configuration and channel configuration based on the СMAT registries; distribution of transactions with description of SQL-queries and tables of DSDP databases over nodes; storage and maintenance of components of devices’ load ratio and execution time of transactions (these components are used for maintenance of ES explanation mechanism); maintenance of ADSDP data base integrity.

The authors consider the problem of achieving an energy desired level with unknown parameters. Two-stage control synthesis algorithm based on double-speed gradient is proposed. The objective function depends on unknown parameters. The identifiability of the model’s parameters is obtained basing on self-tuning model. The algorithm efficiency is demonstrated via a pendulum example.

Article deals with the methods of union the descriptions of discrete system functioning, represented as algorithmic models. The way of process description as an operator-parametric scheme was considered. The concept of homogeneous process was defined. It was shown that the functioning of homogeneous processes could be briefly described with introduction of new united elementary operator and the concepts of local process environments, connected to initiator. Obtained results allowed introducing the concept of blocks and classify them. It, in turn, allowed specifying different approaches to system functioning description; a class of streaming description schemes was defined and analyzed.

Algorithm of computer-aided generation of teaching selection for neural network with error backpropagation was considered. Teaching and hand-written character recognition occurred through the generation of finite set of different images of the character. The deviation of trace parameters of the character didn’t exceed 15% (values of angles of significant segments with coordinate axis) from the reference hand-written character. It was shown that neural network learned faster from auto-generated selection than from selection generated by a man. Algorithm was implemented in Microsoft C# language.

The authors studied dependence of speed of on-line handwriting parser created on the basis of artificial neuron networks, on the architecture of these networks and program solution as a whole for manual and automated methods of symbols (letters) selection from a connected sequence (words). For each method the authors developed s simulation model which is realized in GPSS language. The simulation results showed that personal pocket computers (PDA) make it possible to carry out handwriting parsing software capable of granting the user useful functionality at an acceptable level.

Article deals with the analysis of architecture and procedures of data transferring in distributed information system of the Interior. Based on the flow of documents analysis, it was shown that the duty unit is the main link of any Interior organization. The flow of duty unit’s documents was analyzed; classification of these documents was introduced, it allowed varying the burden on operational staff; model of working with documents for staff was introduced; the architecture of information system was corrected. Mathematical models and algorithms for listed problems were described in the article.

The paper examines approaches to assessing the economic efficiency of the new mental-structured educational technology, which is based on the idea that the content of education, need to "adapt" to the psychophysical abilities of students in accordance with the laws of the objectively existing functional systems of the brain. From an economic point of view is assessed in basic contradiction between higher professional education exponentially growing amount of new information and strictly regulated terms of learning how to optimize the objective function to evaluate the effectiveness of new technology. It is shown that implicit in the heart of the new educational technology computer-aided opportunity to obtain quantitative indicators of the quality of training can help achieve the strategic objectives of the educational institution.
